CM: When did you complete the Transformative Coaching Essentials program and what are some of the most valuable things you got out of it?NR: I finished in 2020. One of the most valuable things I gained was the idea of curiosity. Curiosity shifts my communications and interactions from a place of “trying to figure people out” to meeting people where they are. I notice that I use this tool with everyone from my grandkids to business associates.CM: Do you consider yourself a life coach? If no, how would you describe who you are professionally?
NR: Being a life/transformational coach is just one of the facets of who I am. I offer my services occasionally. I do enjoy working with people, families, etc. I am a consultant (IT, Legal, Medical) and have moved into being a developer (I build houses!)
CM: What would you say to somebody who told you they were thinking about becoming a life coach?
NR: First, I would ask them what it is about being a life coach that excites them. Also what scares them. Being a life coach lives between those to spaces. I would then ask them what they envision their life to be in 5 years, What is it they want it to look like, feel like, sound like. How would being a life coach fit into their vision. Yes, I would coach them ( with their permission of course!)
CM: What is one misperception you believe people have about coaches (whether designated “life coach” or something else)?
NR: I think people think that coaches are there to “fix” people and their problems. That they are there to give advice. Coaching couldn’t be further from fixing/advice.
CM: What is your coaching specialty?
NR: The areas I enjoy the most are family dynamics, addiction, parenting and transitional stages in a persons life (retirement, empty nesters, job transitions, figuring out “what’s next” etc)
CM: Are you a full-time coach?
NR: I am not a full time coach.
CM: What do you do other than coaching?
NR: I do IT, Medical/legal consulting and I build houses!
CM: Do you have a website dedicated to your coaching business?
NR: I do have a website but it is currently inactive
CM: Do you have social media accounts that you use primarily for your coaching business?
NR: no.
