Is Coach Training Right for You? Read our New Guide for Potential Coaches!

Coach Highlight – Emily Bennington

CM: When did you complete the Transformative Coaching Essentials program and what are some of the most valuable things you got out of it?

EB: I went through TCE from June 2021 and graduated May 2022! Whew, so much value! I learned so much about myself – there was personal growth that has opened my world to understanding and loving myself so much more than before entering this amazing program. I learned how to be with people, I learned how I want to be communicated with, I learned how to speak up for myself and ask for what I want – all these have helped me step into my confidence and feel more empowered.

CM: Do you consider yourself a life coach? If no, how would you describe who you are professionally?

EB: Yes, I am a life coach. I refer to myself as a Career Empowerment Coach. I am also a human resource professional. Right now, I am working my 9-5 as an Sr. HR Business Partner at an great organization and I am also working on establishing my Incredibly Emily Coaching business when I’m outside of my 9-5. The theme around both of these parts of me is my desire to connect with and help people. Professionally, I also see myself as fun (I like to laugh), honest and authentic, and a leader.

CM: What would you say to somebody who told you they were thinking about becoming a life coach?

EB: Go for it! And also, I encourage you to reflect on your why. What is your motivation? Becoming trained as a life coach allows you to show up for people in a different, much more powerful, way. It’s really amazing stuff!

CM: What is one misperception you believe people have about coaches (whether designated “life coach” or something else)?

EB: I believe that the public, wholistically, does not have a clear understanding of the value of life coaching. When I describe it to people, I usually hear something like “oh, so it’s very similar to therapy”. And while yes, there are similarities in how we show up for clients and the way we get curious with clients, there are vast differences in the approach and how we support people. Because more people think it’s like therapy, that people have a hard time also investing in a coach. But the two (therapy and coaching) can really work so well together! I’m hopeful that with more mental health awareness and people doing more work on themselves, that the public’s interest in investing in life coaching will continue to grow.

CM: What is your coaching specialty?

EB: I am a Career Empowerment Coach. I partner with clients helping them realize their power and value by building confidence and empowering them to go after what they want. I support clients in creating an impact in your role, discovering their purpose and values and align those in their career, I help them negotiate a higher salary, and/or step into leadership with confidence.

CM: Do you have a website dedicated to your coaching business?

EB: Yes – www.incrediblyemily.com

CM: Do you have social media accounts that you use primarily for your coaching business?
