CM: When did you complete the Transformative Coaching Essentials program and what are some of the most valuable things you got out of it?
PH: I graduated with the 2023 TCE Cohort and later certified in 2024. The most valuable thing I got out of TCE were the listening and curiosity skills. I continue to use them as a coach and as a professional but they have been the most valuable in all my personal relationships. With TCE’s listening and curiosity tools I navigate relationships in a way that my loved ones feel seen and heard.
CM: Do you consider yourself a life coach? If no, how would you describe who you are professionally?
PH: To people who ask casually, I say I am a Professional Mindset Coach. If someone seems interested in talking more, I let them know my focus is as a Professional Team Development Coach.
CM: What would you say to somebody who told you they were thinking about becoming a life coach?
PH: Run, don’t walk. No matter what you do or how you plan to use it you will find value and you will become a version of yourself you only hoped possible.
CM: What is one misperception you believe people have about coaches (whether designated “life coach” or something else)?
PH: The misperception I hear most often is that a coach is only for people who aren’t strong enough to figure it out on their own. What I find more accurate is that everyone needs to address their mindset blocks (even coaches themselves) and some of the strongest people are the ones choose to get support, look inside, and make real change.
CM: What is your coaching specialty?
PH: I specialize in team development and conflict resolution.
CM: Are you a full-time coach?
PH: Coaching is a part of my full-time role as the Chief People Officer at Goff Legal, PC – a law firm that offers Estate Planning and Trust Administration in Placer County.
CM: What do you do other than coaching?
PH: When I’m not coaching I’m spending time with my husband and daughter, making music, running, or drinking a cold beer!
CM: Do you have a website dedicated to your coaching business?
PH: Yes! 45degreecoaching.com
CM: Do you have social media accounts that you use primarily for your coaching business?
PH: Yes! You can find me on instagram as @45degreecoaching
