Is Coach Training Right for You? Read our New Guide for Potential Coaches!

Coach Highlight – Pat Malandra

CM: When did you complete the Transformative Coaching Essentials program and what are some of the most valuable things you got out of it?

PM: I completed my transformative coaching essentials program in 2020. Some of the most valuable things I got out of it are obviously my coach training – having the ability to help people get what they want out of life. The training has empowered me to be a more effective communicator in all areas of my life, and it creates deep sense of connection with my clients..

CM: Do you consider yourself a life coach? If no, how would you describe who you are professionally?

PM: Yes, I do consider myself to be a life coach.

CM: What would you say to somebody who told you they were thinking about becoming a life coach?

PM: I would immediately encourage them to do it. Being a coach has enriched my life experience and keeps me relevant, and connected to the world in deep ways. It keeps me connected to, as Leonard Cohen would say “what’s real and going on below” in humans, which is fascinating. Also, the insights that my clients develop inform me in my own life. Amazing stuff!

CM: What is one misperception you believe people have about coaches (whether designated “life coach” or something else)?

PM: People often come to Coaching with a sense that I’m going to teach them how to do things. They are always pleasantly surprised by the fact that they have the answers inside of them, that the wisdom was there all along, and they just needed a roadmap to get there.

CM: What is your coaching specialty?

PM: Honestly, humans are my specialty. I have coached creatives. I have coached a college student who was who became disillusioned with her major in the final semester of senior year. I have coached people with recent cancer diagnoses. I have coached people with chronic pain. I have coached, dynamic aging. I have coached business owners and managers. I have coached people transitioning from one job or field to another.

CM: How can people get ahold of you for coaching?

PM: Text me at 610-513-5391. I don’t have an online presence. All of my clients have been through referral.
