Accountability (in Business and Everywhere) = I have choice

Accountability is ownership of our results – a willingness to look at what we have (the report is on time; the report is late; I was on time; I was late) and ask, “How am I responsible for this outcome?”  The recognize ownership, however, requires that one recognize one has choice.  Our lack of ownership often is a result of believing we have no choice in a given situation.  What do you think?
