Is Coach Training Right for You? Read our New Guide for Potential Coaches!

Coach Highlight – Sandy Radclyffe

CM: When did you complete the Transformative Coaching Essentials program and what are some of the most valuable things you got out of it?
SR: I completed the program in August 2025. I entered the training with the intention of mastering the skills I needed to become an expert coach, and I walked away with far more than I expected. The program is truly at a master’s level but is accessible for everyone. That’s a testament to how it is constructed and taught. It provided not only the competency to coach individuals and groups effectively, but also the invaluable experience of being immersed in a supportive community of coaches, peers, and staff. That sense of connection and shared growth was just as transformative as the skills themselves.

CM: Do you consider yourself a life coach? If no, how would you describe who you are professionally?
SR: Yes, I am a life coach, and I apply my skills across a wide spectrum of diverse clients. I also have specialty areas where I focus on specific topics.

CM: What would you say to somebody who told you they were thinking about becoming a life coach?
SR: I would begin by asking what draws them to life coaching and why it feels important to them. The “why” is the compass that will guide the journey. If they feel inspired enough to explore it, I encourage them to pursue it wholeheartedly. Coaching opened up a world for me that has enriched my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined before. Having lived it, I truly believe there isn’t a situation that can’t be improved by adopting a coaching mindset.

CM: What is one misperception you believe people have about coaches (whether designated “life coach” or something else)?
SR: One of the biggest misconceptions is that coaching is unstructured, unregulated, or simply wishful thinking. In reality, the training I received from TCE and the coaching I practice, is grounded in recognized, client-centered methodologies that are both structured and effective. Coaching is not pseudo-psychotherapy; it is a distinct practice focused on helping clients explore, discover, and design ways that work for them. Therapy is a separate discipline, and skilled coaches know the difference. As is often said, wishing is not a strategy. Coaching is about working with a client to create sound, actionable approaches including accountability, leading to the client’s results.

CM: What is your coaching specialty?

SR: One of my specialty areas is coaching for financial success, helping clients transform their relationship with money, build confidence in financial decision-making, and align their financial choices with the life they truly want to create. I see myself as both a guide and a partner in helping clients achieve clarity, confidence, and lasting transformation. No matter the stage, from the beginning of money management to coaching on investments and wealth building strategies, I coach to align their financial goals with their broader life vision.

CM: Are you a full-time coach?

SR: Yes, I am.

CM: What do you do other than coaching?
SR: I am a lifelong learner with deep interests in technology, science, medicine, and finance. I dedicate time to expanding my knowledge in these areas and to my own personal growth, which continually enriches the perspective I bring to my coaching practice. In my free time, I travel with my family, go to musical events, volunteer, and spend time connecting with people. I have a daily morning practice of meditation, intention setting, reading, writing, and accomplishing tasks. These activities anchor me and give me a deep feeling of contentment.

CM: Do you have a website dedicated to your coaching business?
SR: Yes, my website is www.ChooseChangeCoaching.com. Clients can learn more about my services and connect with me directly.

CM: Do you have social media accounts that you use primarily for your coaching business?
SR: Currently I am not using social media for my coaching business. I connect with clients through my website, networking, in-person events, and business email outreach,  choosechangecoaching@outlook.com.
